As sophisticated electronics become more popular in today's automobile, designers must choose circuit materials that meet the demanding performance requirements of the automotive industry. Excellent electrical, mechanical, thermal and environmental performance define the materials that provide the greatest benefits to automotive designers. Rogers is the leading supplier of advanced circuit materials to the automotive industry for adaptive cruise control (ACC), blind spot and back-up aids, collision avoidance and mitigation, antennas, and other microwave and RF applications. Rogers also supplies materials for tolling and RFID.
Typical Applications: High temperature and harsh environment printed circuit boards; sensors located in engine, gearbox and braking systems; tire pressure sensors.
RO3003 high frequency materials combine the best electrical performance and lowest cost for a PTFE material on the market today. Low dielectric constant and low loss contribute to high frequency performance and overall system efficiency. RO3003 has a flat dielectric constant and dissipation factor over both frequency and temperature. The CTE in the Z-axis is 24 ppm°C for excellent plated through hole reliability. Coupled with the high melt point of PTFE, RO3003 has excellent thermal properties for the wide variety of operational temperatures that automotive designs face.
Some Typical Applications: Automotive collision avoidance systems, automotive global positioning satellite antennas, cellular and pager telecommunication systems, patch antennas for wireless communications, direct broadcast satellites, datalink on cable systems, remote meter readers, power backplanes.
